The American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, founded in 1903, is the largest international scientific organization of experts dedicated to reducing the worldwide burden of tropical infectious diseases and improving global health. We accomplish this through generating and sharing scientific evidence, informing health policies and practices, fostering career development, recognizing excellence, and advocating for investment in tropical medicine/global health research.

The ASTMH is an international society committed to equity and global impact through the treatment and prevention of tropical infectious diseases. Our diverse membership comes from more than 115 countries and engages with an enormous array of infectious diseases, cultures, ethnicities, and countries. We come from academia, research institutes, implementation programs, industry, multilateral organizations, foundations, and governments, gathering annually to exchange data, share learning, and honour contributions from the field and the lab.
